What is the "Legacy Ambassador"?
The Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon was established in 2022 to preserve the excitement and memories of the people of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games for future generations.
As a Legacy ambassador, former Olympic athletes will share their unique perspective on the joy of participating in a half marathon and the significance of the event, helping to carry forward the spirit of the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon.

- Represented Japan in four Olympic Games, In the 2021 London Olympics, he won three medals including a silver medal in the 200m backstroke.
- He also competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
- In April 2024 he announced his retirement from active athletics.

My name is Ryosuke Irie!
I am pleased to announce that I have been appointed as a Legacy Ambassador for the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon 2024.
This will be my first time to participate in a half marathon.
While I have swum up to 10 km in a single training session, never done in running, I’m both anxious and excited about whether I can complete half marathon.
For those of you who will be participating in the race for the first time like me, let's do our best together!

At the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympics, she competed in eight events and currently holds 7 national records.
After retiring from swimming in 2021, she has expanded her platform to Public speaking, Modeling, Acting, as well as working with companies on projects based on “well-being” “sustainability” and “diversity & inclusion”.

Hello, I am Mei Ichinose.
Last year, I challenged myself to my first half marathon at the Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon. I was overwhelmed by the atmosphere of the event and the enthusiasm of the runners and volunteers! I remember being deeply moved by how everyone was giving their all towards their own goals, making it feel like a festival.
I am very happy to be involved again this year as a Legacy Ambassador. I look forward to running with everyone!
What is the "PR Supporter"?
PR supporter will work together to promote the entire event, mainly through social media, and will be responsible for the process from entry to the event and the attractiveness of the event.

Participated in and won many national championships in the 800m track and field event, including Inter-High School, All-Japan Intercollegiate, and Japan Championships.
Currently, she thrives in a multifaceted career as a model, event guest, and advertising.
