【Notice】Special Starters for the Half Marathon

We are pleased to announce that Remi Anri Doi, who served as captain of the Japan men’s national handball team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, will serve as the Special Starter for the Half Marathon, which starts at 8:05 a.m. on Sunday, October 18.

We are also delighted to announce that Katsura Enyo, President of the Tokyo Sports Association for the Disabled, will serve as the Special Starter for the Wheelchair Half Marathon, which starts at 8:00 a.m.

Born on September 28, 1989, in Chiba Prefecture.
Doi began playing handball in the third grade of elementary school. After graduating from Nippon Sport Science University, he played professionally in France. In 2017, he became the first Japanese handball player to compete in the French All-Star Game.
In 2019, he was appointed captain of the Japan men’s national handball team and competed at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. He retired from professional handball in 2024.
Known affectionately as “Remitan” on social media, Doi is also active as a TikTok creator and continues to pursue a wide range of activities beyond the world of sports.
